Building for an audience of one, then sharing.
My background is in real estate development and approvals, and in building companies that take the customer's side. At Fidelity Investments I underwrote hotel, mixed-use and office joint ventures across a $1 billion value-add program, including National Harbor, the 300-acre district on the Potomac anchored by the 2,000-room Gaylord National. Since then I have led a 100-acre rural rezoning before a county commission in Tennessee, arriving after neighbors had already organized against it, and developed hospitality places through Amala. Today I work on data center site approvals: structured conversations with landowners, residents and officials before a project is public, and community-benefit plans in which every commitment has an owner, a budget, a date and a way for residents to verify it. The companies I founded were built for the customer rather than the industry: Zero, banking without fees, acquired by Avant in 2021, and Landian, a brokerage designed around flat fees instead of percentage-based commissions, with nearly 1,000 agents across 64 states and provinces. I live outside Atlanta and work wherever the site is.
